All book reviews must be based on the novel chosen from the Term Novel List, corresponding to each student’s grade

Students must compose their comprehensive book reviews using the official paper entry form and submit them by Saturday, 3rd May 2025. Submissions can be made online or by delivering a physical copy to the office in person.

Participants are required to ensure the coherency of sentences, accurate spelling, proper use of grammar and punctuation, as well as the appropriate organisation of paragraphs in their reviews. Marks will be awarded solely to well-presented and completed reviews, adhering to the book review guidelines provided below.

    (e.g. adventure, fantasy, recount, mystery etc.)

  • Does the story have a moral?

  • Is the book well written?
  • Is the book exciting or not?
  • Did the author use interesting words?
  • Are there any illustrations? Are they effective in contributing to the story?
  • Would you recommend this book?
  • Who would you recommend it to?

The reward credit awarded as the prize for this competition can be used for enrolling in either holiday or regular term courses at the Pre-Uni New College branch where it was issued. This credit is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Any remaining credit will expire 90 days from the issuance.
