It is therefore a requirement of the college that prospective tutors undergo a recruitment procedure that reviews their educational backgrounds, personal qualities, and aptitudes in numeracy, logical reasoning, and teaching.

Stage 1: Review of the Application and Resume
Objective: To assess the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and suitability for the role.
Steps for Prospective Candidates
1. Application Submission:

Submit your application form, resume, and cover letter via our online portal.

Ensure your resume includes detailed information about your educational background, teaching experience, and any relevant certifications.

Your cover letter should highlight your teaching philosophy and motivation for joining Pre-Uni New College.

Deadline: As per organisational requirements.

2. Initial Screening:

Double-check that your application materials are complete and error-free.

Highlight any specific achievements or experiences that align with the role you are applying for.

3. Reference Check:

Provide contact information for at least two references who can speak to your personal qualities and expertise.

Stage 2: Mathematical Reasoning and Thinking Skills Exam
Objective: To evaluate the candidate’s proficiency in mathematical reasoning and thinking skills.
Steps for Prospective Candidates
1. Exam Preparation:

Familiarise yourself with topics relevant to selective school tests, including algebra, geometry, data interpretation, and problem-solving.

Utilise available resources such as textbooks, online courses, and practice exams to prepare.

2. Exam Administration:

Complete the provided online Mathematical Reasoning Exam (35 questions in 45 minutes).

Complete the provided online Thinking Skills Exam (40 questions in 60 minutes).

Ensure you have a quiet, distraction-free environment to take the exams.

Follow all the provided instructions and guidelines carefully.

Deadline: Exams must be completed within 7 days of receiving the exam instructions.

Stage 3: Video Lesson Presentation
Objective: To assess the candidate’s teaching abilities, presentation skills, and ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
Steps for Prospective Candidates
1. Instruction:

If you meet the cut-off scores, you will be informed about the video lesson requirement.

You will be provided with the set of questions that you answered during the first stage of the application process.

Notification: You will be notified within 3 days of completing the exams if you have progressed to this stage.

2. Video Lesson Preparation:

Prepare a video lesson (15–20 minutes) explaining the solutions to the provided exam questions.

Use existing application functionalities to enhance your presentation.

Ensure your explanations are clear, concise, and engaging.

Practise your presentation to ensure smooth delivery.

Deadline: Submit your video lesson within a week of receiving the video lesson instructions.

3. Submission:

Submit your video lesson within the specified timeframe via the provided submission platform.

Ensure the video is of high quality, clearly audible, and well-lit.
