Entry to North Sydney Boys High School is primarily determined by the results obtained in the Edutest entrance exams.
Students shortlisted for entry may be invited to sit additional short tests to determine suitability for the in-demand science, mathematics and extension courses. These tests are the same tests that our existing Year 10 cohort sit to determine their suitability for courses in these KLAs.

Additional Information for Year 11 Applicants
As part of the Fort Street High School Year 11 2027 selection process, all applicants (Year 10 in 2026) are required to sit the Acer – Higher Abilities Selection Test (HAST).
+ Acer HAST Student Identification Form to be handed in on the entrance test day
Submit the completed application form with your last two school reports only and a $105 non-refundable fee; details in support of the application are to be written on the form but evidence will only be required at the interview if selected.

Shortlisting will be based on the application and school reports, and the Sydney Boys High School Placement Tests for shortlisted applicants will be held in the School’s Great Hall; shortlisted applicants will be notified by email.Final interview invitations will be made based on the overall ranking of applicants.
<span style=”color: red;”>Family Placement </span> gives priority to applicants with relatives who attended Sydney Boys or Girls High, but it can only be claimed using the school’s own application form, not the generic Selective Education Unit form.
